Let's take a closer look at the slayer herself.....

Buffy Summers - A quick bio:

A short history of the slayer ......
Buffy Summers was born to Hank and Joyce Summers in 1981 in Los Angeles California. When she was young Buffy was extremely close to her cousin Celia, sadly Celia passed away when Buffy was a teen. It was at this stage that Buffy pledged an allegiance to her childhood hero Dorothy Hamill who was an American ice skater that won Gold in the 1976 Winter Olympics. This gave Buffy something positive in her life at a time when everything seemed terribly sad.
In 1996, Merrick informed her of her destiny. He was her watcher, a keeper, of the Slayer. He showed her her power and she fought vampires, that is until a series of rather 'unfortunate incidents' led to Buffy's expulsion from her High School (ok is burning down the Gym because it's full of vampires unfortunate?) and the death of her Watcher Merrick, Buffy and her mother moved to Sunnydale where she met her new Watcher, Rupert Giles, and of course what was to become known as 'the Scooby Gang', her friends Willow and Xander.

Buffy's real days of slaying started in 1997 when she found out from her new Watcher, Giles, that Sunnydale was actually located atop a Hellmouth, a portal to an evil dimension replete with Vampires, demons and other uber bad ass types, oh isn't it always the way? You move to a new town trying for a fresh start and that whole 'Chosen One' thing just seems to go with you. On top of the whole not being able to shake the Chosen One thing, Buffy has had quite a traumatic six years: she loses her soul mate Angel when he loses his soul after consumating their love, her mother Joyce dies, she discovers that her sister Dawn isn't actually her sister and of course there's the whole demons involved thing, to top things off she also becomes romantically involved and breaks up with her former arch enemy, Spike. More recently, she watched her best friend Willow nearly destroy the world (never trust those witchy types). Luckily with help from Dawn, Buffy and the rest of the gang managed to come out on top... Whew! Though in the end Anya was for the chop. All that and she died and was ressurrected! Well you have to respect a girl that can fit all that into only a few years. Buffy! We Salute you!

Well noone can say she doesn't truly kick ass, sometimes to her detriment but she always bounces back. She's tough but with heart and she's witty but with bite. For any Buffy fans out there we don't have to go on and on because you'll know how brilliant Buffy was, anyway this isn't about the show, this is about Buffy.. the girl.. the woman... the slayer! Just incase anyone is confused as to why the Show and all the other characters aren't overly mention... why heck.. we'd be here ALL day wouldn't we, suffice to say if you've tried it cool, if you haven't it's suggested you purchase the DVDs and be prepared to give up many hours viewing time.

Does it get any better? Of course it does, Buffy also has a video game incarnation... a few actually, but just for you here's some screenshots from the Xbox version of the original Buffy Title.. there's even a dusty old review kicking around:

When Buffy ended fans wept and sadly nothing since has had the same wit and humour mixed with demons and vamps, but we hope one day another girl in all the world will come along and show us the way!
