| After taking member submissions
for our next Honorary Oakley Violets name
was hurled about by UKers. Although perhaps
not famous outside the UK, Violet is a
gaming institution therein. She's been
the face of female gaming for many a year
and continues to be so today! This is
why we feel she is a great addition to
the the Honorary Oakley listing. Violet
Berlin is a role model for many girls
/ women wanting to break into the games
industry and this is why she is Thumb
Bandits Honorary Oakley for the month
of August 2004.
Let's take a closer look at the woman
herself.....

WOW!. |
| As you can tell from her list
of work she's a bit of a gaming
and technology guru and it is with
this in mind that we have chosen
Violet Berlin to be represented
in our Oakley hall of fame! Violet
herself let us know that one of
her favourite films is Annie Get
Your Gun and we liked this tie in
also.
Violet can be seen hosting Gamepad
4 at present, a show all about
gaming. The great thing about
this is, she's not JUST eyecandy
(although she is nice to look
at - very cool), she actually
knows about gaming and this comes
across extremely well even to
someone who may not have heard
of her before (ie a non UKer as
I was). |
|
For all the reasons above and more we
have chosen Violet Berlin, Presenter,
Writer, Producer and all round cool female
gaming guru to be our Honorary Oakley
for the month of August 2004.
Violet Berlin we salute you!
And that is why Violet Berlin is
Thumb Bandits Honorary Oakley for
the Month of August 2004!
